Failing the Grace of God
Heb 12:14-15 - Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. If Gods Grace is His “unmerited favor” and given to us unconditionally, as we are commonly told, then how is it possible for a Christian to “fail” the grace of God? If we as believers have no bearing on the dispensation and working of His Grace in our lives, then how can anything we do possibly have any effect on it, let alone cause it to fail in us….unless we can? Is it possible that we’ve totally missed the boat on what His Grace actually is, or at the least, we are only looking at part of the definition? Now it is absolutely true that Gods Grace is His unmerited favor and freely given to us when we believe and become followers of Christ, but it is so much more than that.
